Midnight Juggernauts

Look! I’ve moved to WordPress! I was surfing the net and came across a pretty cool looking blog…so I decided to move. Blogger seems so limiting compared to this place, which has been pretty easy to use and has lots of free little gadgets and features. I think I’m going to stick to this place for a while.

Anyway. Back to the subject of this post.

The Midnight Juggernauts played at UNSW’s midsession party this week. They were pretty good even though their set list was pretty similar to their gig at the Metro a few weeks ago. The fact that I didn’t enjoy this concert as much as the last was probably because I almost got crushed in the crowd. I literally woke up the next day with bruises. I’m weak, I know.

Here are some pictures I took.

Stereo Total

This was quite possibly one of the most hilariously odd shows I have ever been to. I couldn’t stop laughing or tapping my feet to the music, especially during the parts that were accompanied by the kazoo.

If you’ve never heard of Stereo Total, you should definitely check them out. I can’t really figure out a way to succinctly describe what one of their concerts are like, so I’m going to rip off what one of my mates said to me while we were watching the show:

“This is exactly what an oompa loompa rave would be like.”

I think it perfectly describes the experience.

The show ended with a bang as well, with Stereo Total returning for an encore and the crowd spontaneously rushing the stage to dance the last few songs away with the German-French duo.

I Heart Hiroshima supported and were also very impressive, mainly due to the fact that the drummer was able to sustain an awesome standard of playing and singing for a full hour set while still being able to joke around with the audience, her hat and her hair.

Flowers

One of our first housewarming gifts. I’m not too sure, but I think these are orchids.

Trivia, post two.

The latest and greatest trivia team name I’ve heard so far: Stephen Hawking’s Wheelchair.
