Apple mania
Having recently crossed over to the Mac side, I was pretty excited about the opening of the new Apple store and would have visited on opening night had I not been working. Yes, that’s right. I’m an unashamed geeky Apple fan.
It was unsurprisingly packed and buzzing when I managed to drop by on Friday. Even after reading about the store online and checking out some very cool photos of the place I still had a good time checking out the space and the nifty ideas Apple has brought into the consumer experience, such as Genius Bar and iTunes live sessions come July 3.
The only question now is whether to upgrade from my hand-me-down mobile to the new 3G iPhone once it’s out on July 11. A few little birdies have told me that Vodafone is going to be offering the 8GB/16GB models for $299/$399 outright. Even though it’s not as cheap as AT&T’s announcement for the American iPhones, it’s still pretty tempting. The yuppie in me is crying out BUY IT. BUY IT NOW! Let’s see if I can resist temptation…

Do we get free maps with this iphone 3g?
kim – its not voda – it’s optus. My mum has signed me up for the July 11 intake. she came to an agreement, albeit with herself, since i have not agreed upon her spastic terms that she would buy it but all running costs there onwards are payable by yours truly. i figured in the long run i lose out!! haha. anyway, let me know if u need details on how to get your hands on them asap. (i also have a hand me down, in fact, my mother always has a better phone than me)
Yeah I heard Optus was selling the iPhone too but didn’t know whether they’d be doing just plans or outright as well. I forgot that your mum works for Optus…is the pricing going to be the same as what I heard Voda is selling it for? I’m only interested in buying it outright, I hate plans and contracts.
Argh… Don’t tempt me with this offer! I’m trying to save my money for the end of the year…
And sparsham – not too sure about these maps you’re talking about, what feature is that? I guess we’ll have to wait and see :)
